Hi, all, with all the hub-bub over maximum sterile barrier precautions for line insertions, we are also looking at what we wear to do repairs on tunneled, cuffed central venous catheters such as Hickman's, Broviac's, and Cook TPN catheters, just to name a few. I don't believe there is any evidence out there or a study looking at this, but if anyone knows of evidence to recommend certain garb for line repairs, I would appreciate your input. We currently wear masks and sterile gloves and drapes, but are leaning toward going to maximum sterile barrier precautions. Please send me your thoughts or references....thanks!!
