National Benchmark for Infilteration rates and Phlebitis
Are there publlished Benchmarks for Inifilteration rates and Phlebitis? Does anyone currently collect this data? Can anyone help or have any information??Â
There really are no national benchmarks for infiltration/extravasation. Most facilities do not even collect this data much less publish it. There are some statistics I found and published in my recent article on Infiltration in the August issue of AJN. For phlebitis rates, you will have to pull studies on peripheral catheters to find the rates of phlebitis being reported in those. Lynn
