"Sterile" technique is not possible. Now the standard of practice is to use surgical aseptic non touch technique. See details in the 2024 INS SOP including the Appendix about this technique. Because USGPIVC is more complicated, with more steps and devices, it requires a surgical ANTT. No data supports full body drapes but a small drape and sterile gloves, probe cover, get is needed.
