One of our new Interventional Radiologists insists on using sutures to secure his Picc's as opposed to Stat Lock's. I know that sutures have a higher rate of infection but can't seem to get my hands on any good articles to prove my point. Anybody have any good references?
Look for published information about biofilm as this is what happens on sutures that leads to infection. Another huge problem with sutures is needlestick injury and there is lots published about this.

Do a search on Dr. Gregory Shears. He has written most of the articles on this topic.
He is a Pediatric anesthesiologist at Mayo who is the Medical Director of the PICC Team

Any other suggestions about specific studies or articles linking biofilm-sutures-CLABSI other than Schears and Yamamoto?

I am now giving a presentation about CVC stabilization methods. My literature search was about a year ago, but there was nothing additional at that time. In this article:
1. Cantrell S. The triple threat: Manufactured catheter securement devices protect patient, safeguard healthcare workers, save money. Healthcare Purchasing News. Vol June; 2006.
you will find some quotes from Dr. Dennis Maki about the issue including
Secure the line much better because the device prevents pistoning and jiggling, also contributing to reducing the risk of infection.
Eliminate the risks of sharps injuries
2-3 injuries per month from suturing lines at his hospital.
