I saw a coworker go through 6 levels of hell when she gave albumin to a patient without a "blood and blood products" consent. You just never know. Why not take the time to inform, explain, discuss, and get that signature?
Thank you for the replies. There is nothing specific in our IL state laws that we have found and our Risk Management department is leaning toward getting the consent signed. A canvas of area hospitals found mixed responses.
