Wondering how many facilities are using hyaluronidase to treat infiltrations and extravasations. I have not been able to find any research, other than a few articles on peds, to support the use of it.
The brand Wydase is no longer on the market, however there are several other brands of hyaluronidase. This is the antidote of choice for numerous medications upon infiltration or extravasation. My online continuing education course on Infiltration and Extravasation contains this evidence, plus I have found others since we published that course. Also, the ONS Chemotherapy Guidelines includes hyaluronidase as an acceptable antidote for some extravasastions. Lynn
