6 days ago I posted a question about guidelines for placing a PICC lines in a patient with elevated platelet count(>1000). Does anyone have information???!!???

Then I would assume that no

Then I would assume that no one has an answer off the top of their head. Have you done a literature search on this question? I do not know the answer without doing the literature searches but I am reasonable certain that there is some information in the literature on catheter-related thrombosis. Lynn

I recall having only one or two pt's with PLT's over 1000,and hemorrhages were more a problem than thrombosis---high platelets on the counts but they were essentially non-functional. Really doubt you will find much hard data regarding this condition and CL's/PICC's,so you'll have to go with the hematologist's recommendations.
