certification for picc line nurses

Is there a cetification test that picc line nurses can take and hold a certification for inserting picc/midlines such as the CEN for emergency nurses etc.

No, certification is a

No, certification is a voluntary process administered by a professional organization. It involves taking a written test. Once the individual passes such as test it indicates that you have mastered an advanced body of knowledge in a given specialty. Certification is not offered for a procedure. Many education companies use this word to indicate you have completed their learning process and they give a certification of completion or certificate of attendance but this is not a certification. Currently, nurses who insert PICCs hold any number of national certifications such as infusion therapy, parenteral and enteral nutrition, and oncology.
