I am a vascular access specialist, VA-BC, I recently found out that my hospital in metro Atlanta is the only hospital still using filters on all of our central lines. This is currently our policy. My manager wants to see if it is necessary to still be using filters. Could someone please let me know where to go to find out information to support the use of filters or to support why they may not be needed! I would appreciate the help
See the 2016 INS Standard of Practice on Filtration. This is not determined by the type of VAD but by the type of infusate. Lynn
