We have 1 oncology unit in out network that is using the Biopatch for every port access. This is new practice for us. I don't think that there are increased of incidents accidental dislodgements occurring.
We have been using Biopatch on all of our port accesses, for at least 2 years and have not had a problem with dislodgement. We have had to use a longer needle on patients whose ports are not as superficial as others.
