Developed through a nursing education grant from B. Braun Medical, the series will look at current guidelines for flushing IV catheters, complications associated with vascular access devices, and alternatives to heparin in locking and maintaining central vascular access devices.

The first program in the series, Current Guidelines for Flushing IV Catheters, will take place on April 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM EDT. The program is free to all INS members ($35 for nonmembers).

The presenter of the series will be Lynn Hadaway, MEd, RNC, CRNI®, a prominent voice in the world of infusion nursing. Ms. Hadaway holds two national certifications – infusion nursing from the Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation (INCC) and professional staff development from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
