I am looking for help in exploring advancing the PICC team's practice to include starting IJ CVL's. Is anyone doing this currently. Do you have protocols, policies and procedures that you could share with me. Did you petition your state Board of Nursing for this advanced practice? Any information that you have would be very helpful.

Regarding your question about a petition to your state board of nursing - this is totally dependent upon the method used by your board of nursing. About half of the state boards use an algorithym or decision-making tree. So a petition to the board of nursing in those states is not done. Others that make declaratory rulings or advisory opnions would require approaching the state board. So you must know the process used in your specific state.
