One of our administrators tasked me to ask the following question of this forum - thanks for advance for your feedback.

'...how are other hospitals are billing for this service (RN, not NP) and what CPT codes and REV codes they are using?'

Billing for PICCs placed by RNs is through a facility fee. While the billing must be done through Medicare, there is no payment, but this enables billing through Private Insurance allowing you to recoup some monies. I tried to cut and paste a table but I will have to send it to you via email on codes used for insertion etc.

I still question charging for US insertion for nurses.  My understanding is this is not a charge that a nurse can do.
