We recently switched to the Power PICC Solo catheters and are having a hard time getting Tegaderm dressings off the catheter- they stick well to the catheter and come off in pieces. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it? We are looking at switching to other dressings. Thanks!
Have you tried stretching the dressing outward instead of pulling it upward? We had that problem on our stat locks that we use for PICC's. The rep showed us how to stretch the tegadrm dressing out away from the device it is sticking to, instead of trying to lift it off. It worked great. It also worked to get it off of a bio patch that is placed wrong.
