SQ infusions

Is anyone aware of a subq device that is intended for continuous use instead of intermittent injections?  I am aware of the Insuflon which we use for injections but it cannot easily be converted to continuous use.  Also, is there anyone using hylenex or another product with continuous infusions?

Thanks, Angela

Angela,  I was recently in

Angela,

I was recently in a group discussion where nurses were talking about using Hylenex for SQ infusions in peds. Can't remember any details or even who was involved, but I know I have heard recent discussions of this.

You may want to look

You may want to look at Smiths Medical Cleo90 Infusion Set (www.cleoinfusionsets.com). We have converted to this as it is the only safety SQ set available at present. We use it for continuous infusions via electronic pump or intermittent injections.

Thanks for the info.  Do
Thanks for the info.  Do you restrict use to insulin, Daphne, or use for other infusions such as morphine?

I have used a device called
I have used a device called an EZ set, which can be hooked up to IV tubing to run continuous medications subQ through it.  I did search it online and was able to find it under EZ set subcutaneous.
