dedicated TPN line

Single lumen central lines...PICC/Port alternating TPN with other IV medication.  Does any one have reference against this practice?

Thank you for your help

You should check the

You should check the standards and guidelines from the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Are you asking about infusing PN during the evening hours and meds during the day? The issues would be infection risk and solution compatibility. If you maintain excellent methods for managing the catheter hub and if you are not infusing fluids together, these risks should be minimized, however I have not looked at any recent literature on it.
