Carts

Our EHR go live date is approaching.  We're looking for lightweight, easy to maneuver carts - a few PICC carts, and a number of carts for peripheral IV starts etc.

It would be great if they had a drawer or two that were lockable, a table top for our U/S laptop, and be able to have an EHR flip-up laptop fitted to it.

Any of you using carts that you like, especially that meet the above specifications?  We're looking for vendors.

Thanks,

Mari

We use a converted code cart
We use a converted code cart and are very happy. Our cart is from Metro Medical. All the drawers lock. We self installed a sharps box on the side or you can purchase it with a new cart. The defibrillator stand can be used as a laptop stand. If you really need it, I think you can add an IV pole/lab jacket stand. Let me know if I can give you any further information.

 Hmmmm - that's intriguing.

Hmmmm - that's intriguing.  How heavy is it and how easily does it push/turn?  Several of the staff members are small/aging and/or have repetitive stress injuries and it's hard for them to get carts across elevator thresholds, etc.

I'll check out Metro Medical.  If you can find a model number or product reference number on the cart you use, that would be great.

The cart is very mobile and

The cart is very mobile and not very heavy...until we will it with 5 PICC trays, max barrier kits, 2 boxes of prefilled syringes, MST kits, needle guides...you get the picture. It is very mobile.

I have attached a link from the manufacturer that shows what we have. They have many types of cart and most are customizeable. I hope you find what you need and let me know if I can share any other information.
