Chris, where do you intend to place these labels? I would love to see a way to label a midline in situ. In looking at Peter's site it would seem that these labels would not stand up to moisture.
In addition to using a MIDLINE, not a cut short PICC, the Midline itself is labeled as a MIDLINE. The labels I am looking for are to place on the dressing, so they are easily identified as Midlines every time the nurse accesses them. In addition, a sign will be placed over the bed.

We place 8" extension tubing that has a slide clamp and clave on all of our PICC's, ML's, PIV's. We then attach the appropriate label around the extension tubing. Water doesn't present a great problem, unless the Pt. is anasarcic with weeping edema. Then we place some transparent tape over the label. Of course the extension tubing and labels are replaced with dressing changes.
We also have over bed signs, which has brought some HIPPA concerns.
