In response to concerns for our patient's safety, my company established a policy (see attached) in 1999 for replacement of PICCs that were pulled out repetitively by disoriented, unsupervised patients, particularly (but not exclusively) in SNFs. I am needing to know what the rest of the community is doing with this sticky problem!?! You may want to look at what is called a small bore central catheter that has a small cuff and are usually 6 or 7 F. IR's put them in in this type of patient. May companies offer these
