I just read the topic on rewiring. Â Does anyone know if either of the National organizations have a position on using an appropriate wire, such as a COPE or Nitinol wire, at the bedside if one needs to rewire? Â This topic came up the other day and I don't know if it is addressed anywhere by INS or NAVAN. Â Both the COPE wire and another manufacturer make a Nitinol wire with a soft tip that is designed to give a little more stiffness than the wires that come in the kits, and they are designed for this purpose and come in 65cm and longer lengths. Â Is there a standard of practice that discusses this? Â Is this practiced commonly throughout the country? Â Feedback appreciated. Â Thanks.
