Certified Vascular Access Clinician (CVAC)
My hospital is striving towards Magnet status--One important determining factor are the number of Nurses holding certifications--I have worn several hats during the past 30 years but my most defining title is that of Vascular Access Nurse and I would very much like to add the word Certified to that title--What is the status of the AVA efforts in this endeavor?--Will it be possible to take the certification exam at this years's convention in Savanah?--Thank you in Advance

There has been no

There has been no information about this certification since it was first discussed at the Indianapolis meeting in 2006. If it were going to be available in Savannah, we would know by now, but nothing has been announced. You should go for the CRNI in the meantime.
