Do you place PICC lines on the same side where there is a pacemaker? Any problems with the pacer wires? Also, do you place PICC's on the same side with an existing central line, i.e.-jugular?

We do place on same side as jugular or even subclavian if we can't go on the opposite side. We do follow up with a second x-ray though after pulling them, to make sure the Picc has remained in place. We don't place on the same as pacemakers, I did read this on this site previously were someone stated it was OK to do, but our radiologist say differently, so we choose to avoid that side completely.
