A slow gradual displacement or a sudden withdrawal? What is the patient receiving? how much longer is this infusion needed? What do you find when you assess the site and arm and neck? I don't think there is a single answer to your question that could apply to all patients each time. I think the infusion/vascular access nurse specialist will have to make a patient-specific decision. Lynn
