After you register and get your totbag....go to your room and take off your luggage tag off your bags and put it (EXPOSED) on your meeting tote! It's hard to tell yours amoung 1400+ bags that all look the same. This also help the staff return your bag, if found. Make sure your cell number in on the tag (your not at the office or at home!) Every year there are issues with this and this is a simple solution to this potential problem....
Do you know the way to San Jose?.....see you soon!
Got a tip....add it on
I do know the way, I am local to San Jose, CA and work 2 blocks from the conference center.
I am pleased to report the weather is upper 70's to mid 80's, sunny, dry, blue skys. But - we have some mornings of "marine layer" (aka fog), Layered clothing is recommended.
Nights get cool. days warm.

Thanks Ann....and just to add: Remember the convention building is very large so the spacial tempature is difficult to control. Bring thoses "Layers" with you to meeting...if cold your covered...if hot...take it off! (within limits!)
Wear a AVA logo or put something on your bag....so at the airport...you might just find a AVA cab buddy to help share expenses....$$$$$$
There is no other place where you can find so many clinicians that have the same goals and outlook as you do! Capitolize on that! Bring lots of business cards with you to share. If your employer does not provide them, you can create your own for free via Vistaprint.com

Just down the street from the convention center is a "Safeway"....for snacks /meal previsions (has a great wine selection and full hot/cold deli !) A little walk when you get there may save you $$'s (soft drinks, water...)
Plan for long days (early and late) at conference....wear comfortable walking shoes!
